Corrosion Protection: What Are Everlube® And Everslik® Coatings?

For over 50 years, Everlube® products have dominated the solid film lubricant technology. Having manufactured hundreds of specialty coatings, Everlube® products meet customer specifications across all industries.

Everlube® and Everslik® coatings are part of the product line that provides solid film lubrication against corrosion, wear, galling, friction, and chemical resistance.

The Everlube® and Everslik® coatings are based on engineered polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), graphite, and other lubricating pigments. A quality coat of Everlube® and Everslik® can solve even the toughest lubricating problems.

Corrosion Protection Coatings: Everlube® VS Everslik® Coatings

The Everlube® product line provides a wide range of solid film coatings that meet required industry specifications. The Everlube® and the Everslik® coatings are two of the more popular coatings used for corrosion protection.

While both products are considered superior, its application depends on the condition, needs, and environment of the component or critical equipment.

Everlube® coatings are commercial grade, thermally-cured, with an organic binder system. Sub products within this line come in PTFE-based and MoS2- or Graphite-based solid film lubricants. The coatings provide high abrasion resistance, low coefficient of friction, and best performs in high load carrying applications.

The Everslik® product lines are commercial grade, thermally cured, and specially blended high molecular weight coatings. It comes in both phenolic and epoxy-based coatings that provide outstanding corrosion resistance in almost any environment.  The Everslik coatings were developed to provide excellent barrier protection from both abrasive and chemical environments.

Corrosion Protection: Why Are Coatings Important?

Companies can save up to 25 to 30% of annual corrosion costs in the US if they invest in quality coatings. Without proper coatings, corrosion can have damaging effects on valves, motors, pumps, fasteners, switches, belts, and other mechanical equipment.

In infrastructure, the annual direct cost is around $22.6 billion. Corrosion costs total $47.9 billion for utilities such as gas, water, and electricity.

Reduce costs

  • 25% of costs caused by corrosion is avoided by applying existing knowledge on corrosion protection such as coatings.

Reduce accidents

  • Work-related accidents cost the US $250 billion every year. A lot of those incidents are caused by faulty work equipment. If a structure is free of corrosion, the risk for accidents is significantly reduced.

Save time

  • In the event your equipment does falter due to corrosion, repairing it will take time. Once operations stop, the delay in production will also mean profit losses.
